Feature Act available for hire, based in Victoria
Castlemaine’s very own cabaret chanteuse, Rebecca Morton, will bring a touch of Paris to your event with “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
Fresh from her highly acclaimed sell out show, “Both Sides Now”. Rebecca returns to her cabaret roots for an evening dedicated to love, life and romance.
Her new show, “It’s a Wonderful Life (C’est Si Bon!) is a journey thought classic songs and cabaret gems, including Danny Boy, Windmills of Your Mind and Ne me quitte pas (if you go away).
According to Rebecca, show was inspired by the beauty and joy that can be found in everyday life.
”This show is about embracing life – from gumboots to sequins. The fact that one day you can be mucking out the chook shed in gumboots in Castlemaine, figuring our what the kids will have for dinner and the next you are on stage in sequins in Sydney or singing Jacques Brel in a bar in Paris.
“It’s a story about living life to the max and finding love” Rebecca said.
As glamorous off stage as she is on stage, Rebecca has worked in theatre and musical theatre for more than 15 years. She recently appeared at Chapel-Off-Chapel in Prahran and the Castlemaine State Festival in The Sparrow and the Showgirl, her own cabaret show about Edith Piaf and Marilyn Monroe.
In a career spanning almost 20 years, Rebecca Morton has sung works from opera to cabaret, Noel Coward to Sondheim. She has working in capital cities around Australia, as well as Hong Kong and several times around rural Victoria. Her repertoire includes jazz standards and Broadway favourites, swing to dance to blues to cry with, ballads to dream over and some Edith Piaf in immaculate French to elevate the soul.
