Established in 1984, VoiceWorks is QYC's premier ensemble. It is a dynamic mixed (SATB) ensemble of young adults from Year 12 to age 25 who receive advanced training in vocal production, ensemble performance and stagecraft. Performing in different languages across a wide range of musical genres including contemporary, classical, popular, musical theatre, jazz, gospel, early music, world music and Australiana, VoiceWorks produces exciting, professional-standard music entertainment.

Since its inception, VoiceWorks has earned a considerable reputation as a talented, innovative and entertaining group. It has toured extensively in Queensland and New South Wales and has also visited Japan and New Zealand at the invitation of their governments. In 2003, members of VoiceWorks and Vivace Voices represented Australia at Festival 500, an international choral festival held in St John's, Newfoundland, Canada and in 2004 they were invited to perform at Choralfest, the bi-annual Australian choral festival organised by ANCA, the Australian National Choral Association. In January 2006, members of VoiceWorks and Vivace Voices toured to Europe visitng choirs in Finland, Estonia, Sweden and England.

As well as presenting a number of concerts each year as part of the Queensland Youth Choir’s Concert Series, VoiceWorks appears regularly at festivals, conferences, sporting and community events, weddings and other social functions. The group also provides backing vocals for visiting artists and has appeared with Michael Crawford, Rick Price, Gina Jeffries, Rolf Harris, Venetta Fields, The Seekers, Tom Burlinson, Karen Knowles, Jon English, Simon Gallaher, Tina Arena and Nana Mouskouri.
