Peter's ability to connect with his audience has seen him perform to capacity crowds at international sporting arenas, broadcasting live around the world; perform on the P&O cruise liners and in the Australian ski resorts. Peter has performed on stage as Judas, in New Zealand's Mercury Theatre production of Jesus Christ Superstar; record commercials for radio and television and perform at the America's Cup victory party in San Diego for Team New Zealand. He has performed at corporate events in hotels, resorts and nightclubs throughout Australia, Asia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Canada and America and at private weddings and parties and as master of ceremonies for functions and community and cultural festivals.
Peter performed the theme song "This is the Moment" live Commonwealth Games in New Zealand. He will always be remembered by New Zealander's for singing the national anthem on NZ television which was broadcast each day for many years. Peter has hosted his own music television special and has also been a regular guest on NZ commercial television as his talents as a vocalist and percussionist are highly respected and appreciated by his peers.
Peter's talents have been recognized by international artists and he has toured with stars Randy Crawford, Renee Geyer and bass virtuoso Jeff Berlin. Peter performed as the opening solo artist for The Pointer Sisters and with Tina Arena, Mark Williams and Margaret Urlich. He has recorded with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and with many of New Zealand's icons including Midge Mardsen, Ardijah, Shona Laing, Suzie Lynch, Annie Crummer, and with Martin Winch on "Expresso Guitar" which became number 1 on the NZ charts.
Peter has performed at The Manly International Jazz Festival, The Sydney Entertainment Centre and numerous times at The Basement in Sydney with his 10 piece soul and funk band, Bump City and as a special guest with "The Brothers of Oz". Peter is also in great demand for work as a solo artist and for performances with his duo "Soul Obsession" and the "Peter Morgan Duo" and quartet "4te".
As a talented song writer, Peter's credits include hosting and recording programs of original material for New Zealand Broadcasting and recording a CD of original multicultural songs for young children.
Peter's love of music and commitment to his craft has also led him to teaching audiences of all ages, from young children under 5, to high school and Tafe students and delivering performance workshops and training to teachers. Peter's pride in his Maori culture is strong and evident in his cultural performances and community work with children and high school students.
Peter brings a lifetime of experience to his performances and continues to entertain and please audiences with his versatile blend of musical styles and extensive repertoire. His musical and creative influences range from Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Wilson Pickett, Al Jarreau and current soul, RnB, pop and rock artists.
