Richard Vegas combines classic conjuring with the immediacy of street magic, bringing sleight of hand, illusion and mind-reading to close-up and stage performances. His work draws on theatre and storytelling, with audience interaction at the centre of the experience.
A graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art, Richard has worked across theatre and performance. His career includes a decade entertaining at Sydney’s Star City Casino and a customised national campaign for Coke Zero in 2008.
His close-up magic creates personal encounters with guests, while his stage repertoire has included linking rings, razorblade routines and the intimate parlour show The Secret Salon. These formats combine card magic, borrowed objects and demonstrations of mind-reading.
Richard also presented Mada vs Vegas – The Dueling Magicians at the 2010 Adelaide Fringe Festival. His earlier offerings ranged from short feature spots to a full-length joint production, alongside tailored promotional and corporate performances.
