Lynne Kelly is an educator and author who approaches the world with an open mind, a scientific method and an entertaining manner, as demonstrated by her recently published book The Skeptic's Guide to the Paranormal.
Having earned qualifications in electrical engineering, computing and education, Lynne decided to put her knowledge to good use: passing it on to others. She has taught extensively, not just at a primary and secondary school level, but also online. She is an author and the founding principal of the Virtual School Group - Enrichment, which offers school kids the opportunity to learn more than school will teach them - if they want it. She also maintains Being Mathematical, a similar online enrichment program that deals specifically with mathematics that is currently in use in six countries.
As an author, Lynne has been published extensively in the fields of science, mathematics, information technology and gifted education, with her work appearing in books, magazines, newspapers, on CD-ROM and, of course, online. Her most recent work, The Skeptic's Guide to the Paranormal, was published in June and is about to be released in the United States.
As with her teaching, Lynne's writing seeks to broaden understanding. As she points out, "extremists on either side say you should believe everything or that you shouldn't believe anything; neither side is going to help us get towards a better standing of what is real." To this end, of ‘getting towards a better understanding of what is real', Lynne has appeared as a Keynote Speaker and Presenter at many Educational and Science conferences as well as Sceptic events around the world. Her presentation style that is both informative and entertaining has been hugely successful.
In addition to her educational and non-fiction writing, Lynne published a novel in 2003 entitled Avenging Janie, which also deals with scientific and paranormal themes. Currently, Lynne is working on further non-fiction writing that continues to deal with these paranormal themes, as well as another novel and a further non-fiction tome dealing with all things Crocodilian.......
