Liz is one of Australia's most successful Netballers ever. She was captain of Australia and the Sydney Swifts until injury forced her to the sidelines temporarily, late last year. She played in two Gold Medal winning Commonwealth Games teams, won a World Championship and last year surpassed the record for most test matches played for Australia. She has also led the Sydney Swifts to two National League championships. Liz has just returned to the court with the Swifts and hopes to be back with the Australian team later in the year.
Having taken Australia to a World Championship in 1999, Liz intends to keep playing to help take the team to victory again in 2007! As well as playing the game she loves, Liz runs extensive netball clinics, having coached over 9,000 participants, and sits on several Sports related Boards.
Liz’s media work began with the Olympic games in Sydney, and she has since gone on to appear on Channel Seven’s Sports world, Sunrise, 110% Tony Squires and coverage of The2003 Rugby World Cup and 2004 Olympic Games, as well as ABC TV’s The Fat, The Glasshouse and The Einstein Factor. She also presented a weekly sports segment on Triple J for 5 years and is now a regular on Triple M and Radio National. Liz has also contributed to The Australian and Australian Netballer and her second netball related book Netball Heroes was released in 2005.
Liz is in high demand as a motivating and entertaining guest speaker.
