Over the past 15 years the Carneval Strings have performed throughout Australia and Asia. They have been regular performers on Dancing with the Stars, Australia’s Got Talent, It Takes 2, Star Struck, X Factor, ‘Hey Hey It’s Saturday’, ‘In Melbourne Tonight’ and ‘Good Morning Australia.’
Carneval’s television appearances have included performances with Enya, Jon Stevens, Tommy Emmanuel, Wendy Mathews, Daryl Braithwaite, David Gates, Rick Price, Caroline O’ Connor, Soraya, Renee Geyer, David Hobson, David Hirschfelder, and Antennae.
The Carneval musicians have studied abroad, at Melbourne University Conservatorium, the Victorian College of the Arts, the Australian National Academy of Music, and privately with teachers of international standing. Over many years Carneval musicians have enjoyed receiving awards and scholarships for their high standard of playing. Between them they have performed throughout Australia, Europe, Japan, and South Africa.
The Carneval players are in demand as session musicians recording at many of Melbourne’s top studios. Film recording highlights include Macbeth, Elizabeth, Sliding Doors, The man who sued God, The Interview, What becomes of the broken hearted, and My brother Jack. Carneval musicians have also recorded for many bands and TV commercials.
Over the past 10 years the Carneval Strings has had the great pleasure of performing to many people including celebrities Kylie Minogue, Kanye West, Kimberly Davies, Darryl Somers, and Robert Allenby. Carneval have also performed at the Melbourne Cup, the Adelaide Honda Music Festival, the Falls Creek Chamber Music Festival, the Northern Territory Brolga Awards, the Presidents Cup Dinner, The Australian Open, the AAMI International Tennis Classic, and many more.
Carneval has toured Australia with Aria award winner Gotye performing at many festivals including Splendour in the Grass (Byron Bay) Falls Festival (Lorne & Tasmania) Homebake (Sydney) Meredith Music Festival (Victoria) Southbound (WA) and many more. Carneval also performed with Russell Morris and Lior for the induction of Russell Morris to the Aria hall of fame.
Most importantly, Carneval musicians love what they do. Audiences love it too.
