Russell has been a singer entertainer for many years,starting out as a drummer in the 70s with a melbourne cover band called Naverone, supporting some of Melbournes up and coming star bands such as sherbet, acdc, and skyhooks.

In the early 80s Russell decided to go lead singer, forming a cover band and performing in that for 10years named sudden impact.

In 1997 after relocating to queensland and performing in clubs for another 6 years Russell was asked to perform in hongkong in late 2003.

From there Russell ended up staying over in asia for 5 years, living in Singapore, Hongkong, China, and short performances in Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
