After serving a cadetship at the Courier Mail, Rebecca went on to cover four Olympic Games as a reporter and commentator, the Brisbane Commonwealth Games, and the Rugby League, for Channel 10.
In 1992 Rebecca joined ABC Television hosting and reporting on Saturday Afternoon Sports before taking up the position of Super League Media Manager in 1995. She went on to join News Limited as General Manager of their Sydney Olympics Division working as project manager for the Rugby World Cup. Rebecca also has her own sports column in the Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and Adelaide Advertiser.
An original panelist on The Fat, Rebecca quickly made her mark with her acerbic wit and her willingness to expose ‘gibberers’, as well as a passion and knowledge of all things sporting.
In 2004 Rebecca joined Channel Seven to present, alongside host Tony Squires, a new sports panel program known as “110% Tony Squires” as well as becoming a regular contributor to the popular Sunrise program which continues today.
Rebecca was also part of Triple M’s Dead Set Legends program.
In 2005 Rebecca joined the Foxtel team to work on various projects and was appointed co-host of VegaFM’s Drive time show with long time friend and co-host from The Fat, Tony Squires.
In 2006, Rebecca and Tony moved to the ultra-competitive breakfast time slot at Vega and were joined by Angela Catterns and later by Mikey Robins and since then have been presenting a three hour breakfast show that highlights the funny, the quirky, the interesting and the topical aspects of Sydney each day.
Rebecca has been described by Sydney Morning Herald radio journalist Sue Javes as "humorous, relevant, entertaining and intelligent.”
However, journalism has always been Rebecca’s first love and that continues today with Rebecca writing hard-hitting and often controversial columns for The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph as well as the Adelaide Advertiser. Rebecca is often called upon to be a commentator on many social issues for many of Australia’s current affairs programs.
Guest speaking Rebecca has spoken at various events including CPA, Nelune Foundation (booked annually), HSBC Waratahs (Booked annually), State of Origin matches, Rugby Union tests, HIA and the Sydney Swans (every fortnight). Rebecca is a great MC and also presents keynotes for about 40 mins on everything from sport to everyday life, to the juggle that is single motherhood, family life, social issues and general observations that make us all laugh.
Rebecca has a ‘take no prisoners’ attitude, but with a funny twist that audiences enjoy. She can sometimes be irreverent & acerbic at times, but always compassionate about the audience and what their various likes and dislikes may be. You can see how she enjoys engaging with audiences, no matter who they are or where they are from.
