He studied in Paris with Alain Damiens and Francfort with Armin Ziegler.
First concert as soloist at 16 years old ( Weber Quintet, Périgord Noir Festival ).
Samuel Berthod was head clarinet teacher of the Russian Academy of Music Sergeï Rachmaninoff in Paris.
He was acclaimed as a « Born musician » by the french music journalist Jean Cabourg (Diapason Magazine).
He has performed in France, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Denmark, Canada, Australia…
Open to different musical universes and encompassing his compositions in various world music styles, Samuel Berthod has decided to live in Seychelles and Australia, where he has found new inspiration and discovered new musical trends. He has written a major orchestral work called the Venus Symphony, a Piano Concerto, a Klezmer Concerto for Clarinet & Orchestra, and numerous other compositions exploring rythm and melody.
He is now based in Paris, and shares his time between performing concerts, arranging and composing. His performances are not to be missed and show beauty and clarity in tone, interpretation, improvisation, and above all musicality!
