Diva and Divo a Street Festival crowd pleaser! - ASHBURTON FESTIVAL 2010

"Tania de Jong and Jonathon Morton and pianist Rosa Scaffidi captured the hearts of both children and adults at Ashburton Community Festival. The huge crowd was moved by music from well known operatic arias and the kids rushed the stage to become pirate kings. The highlight of the performance was Tania and Jonathon’s haunting version of “We are One” - they were joined by eighty young voices from three local school choirs, proudly singing their joy of ‘being Australian’. A truly uplifting and joyful experience." Ashburton Community Festival Coordinator
From Opera to Broadway under the Stars
With pre-show entertainment by Carnevale Duo, help from our MLC volunteers and a wonderful performance by outstanding young pianist Stefan Cassomenos the night started well. Unfortunately the rain started coming down during Pot-Pourri's performance but despite two power outages the group continued entertaining the many people who stayed on to enjoy the songs, theatre and "the elements"!
"A big "thank you to all" & Congratulations on a wonderful concert!! In spite of the storm, my parents & I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, & actually managed to stay relatively dry under our umbrellas, jackets & partial shelter under the (?cypress) trees. The music was just divine, & our 3 course meal beforehand was superb - the VIP package was great value! I had bought the tickets as my Dad's 80th birthday gift, & it proved a real treat for us all!"
"We stayed until the very end and enjoyed every minute. People were commenting about the quality of your voices and the high standard of singing. It was superb. I loved the new Hallelujah song too and I joined in when you sang We are Australian."
"Brilliant voices and inspiring performance! Some other performers would have spat the dummy under such difficult conditions - but not you and your team !!! And it was so much appreciated by all of us including the people I didnt know but were sitting around me. Very professional!!!"
