Born in Sydney's inner west and raised to believe in the values of the working class, Joy was plucked from obscurity by a US Fashion Photographer out here on assignment for Vogue at 12 years of age.
Mostly due to her sister Sue being a Super model in Europe, Joy became the impish addition to the 1970's to Fashions Guru's of Sydney.
Busy teenage years followed with a full on, after school, work life. Shoots for Vogue, Mode, Cleo, even a Dolly cover, and every kind TVC for teenage products imaginable. It was on the set of big budget TV commercials using feature film crews that Joy developed her" on camera" skills.

It was during this time that major acting roles also began to surface. Joy landed leading roles in many feature films and mini-series, but it was through locally produced "Emoh Ruo that saw Joy representing Australia as a guest at the Canne Film Festival in France.
In 1989 she won an" Aria Award "for her composition "Young Love " included on the Album "You've always got the Blues", and through Albert's had a hit record in Sweden with "My Heart's On Fire".
Aussie band "Eurogliders" enlisted Joy as backing vocalist of which a Royal command performance for Charles and Dianna was the highlight.
Joy travelled to the US to promote "Bangkok Hilton" a mini-series in which she appeared with Nicole Kidman, and was offered a contract in the US with prestigious agent BBMW."
After auditioning in New York and LA for almost one year, Joy happily discovered that she and her husband were expecting.
Returning to Australia she began a career as "Presenter", embarking upon 10 hours of live television a week as Co-Host with breakfast program, "Good Morning Australia".
Qantas Inflight Entertainment contracted Joy as a Host/Presenter for several years fulfilling her love of travel. Children's television, Home Improvement shows and a string of ABC TV documentaries followed.
She revived her acting career by returning to the theatre for one solid year playing in the hit Comedy "Mum's the Word".
