E-type Jazz was formed in 1992 in Adelaide, South Australia. The band has been performing in its current format since 1994. They specialise in new arrangements of classic, swinging jazz tunes, mostly from the 1930's and 40's, in the tradition of Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole.

The music is ideal for background music, for listening or for dancing, and it appeals to people of all ages. They are a full-time professional band, playing at a huge variety of engagements in a diverse range of venues from cafes; pubs and five-star hotels through to jazz festivals, both locally and interstate; radio and television appearances; weddings and corporate events.

They have recorded five CD's, "Whatever the Weather" in 1997, "Anything Goes" in January 1999, "At Last" in October 2000, "HOHO" in 2001 and "More Than You Asked For" in 2002, which was launched in front of a huge crowd at the Adelaide National Wine Centre. All CD's have appeared consistently on the National Music Charts..

The future will see E-type Jazz playing their music more and more to audiences interstate and overseas, taking their huge local successes and expanding them onto a global stage.
