Billy Kilkenny was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. His unique grasp of music and interpretation of singing was only recognised in his late teens, since then he has proven to be a very accomplished musician.

His formal training began in 2005 in the Conservatory of Music, Dublin, under vocal coach Robert Alderson and Colette McGahon. In 2006 Billy joined the prestigious trio ‘The Celtic Kings’ who went on to tour Europe and America with Irish dance sensation ‘Rhythm of the Dance'. 2007 whilst on tour, Billy performed alongside Dolly Parton in ‘Dollywood’ Tennessee.

Billy has worked and maintained a close relationship with Ireland's three opera companies, Opera Ireland, Lyric Opera and AnnaLivia Opera where he performed regularly at the National Concert Hall and The Gaeity Theatre, Dublin. Productions include ‘La Cenerentola’, ‘The Pearl Fishers’, ‘Lucia di Lammamoor’, ‘La Traviata’, ‘Turandot’, ‘Rigoletto’ and ‘Madama Butterfly’.

His unique voice and commanding stage presence has been reconised through out Europe and America. His renditions of many of Ireland's best loved songs such as ‘Carrickfergus’, ‘Dublin in the rare old times’ and ‘Danny Boy’ receive emphatic praise from critics and audiences alike.

Billy also has a keen interest in television and obtained the Bill Keating Television and Presenting certificate. He has most recently appeared in several television productions documenting some of Irelands most historically significant moments.

2011 saw Billy branch out to predominantly solo performances and with increasing repertoire in music, television and film production it has led him to new exciting opportunaties in Melbourne, Australia, where he now resides.
